Hello July. Chapter 7 of 12.
July, the 7th month, is when we shift into the second half of the year. There is summer energy of motion, travel, choices and growth. (yay, finally!) July is a powerful month. It is the time to embrace your boldness and determination.
This month, in typical July bold energy, I noticed a shift in my 1:1 coaching business. Since launching my business 3 years ago, my clientele has consistently been first-time C-Level executives and start-up CEOs. I LOVE the work that we’ve done together. I’ve witnessed clients:
• build confidence
• get clear on a vision
• raise their first round of financing
• hire & reconstruct teams in a pandemic
• bring a cpg product to market
• come out of ‘retirement’
• mend founder relationships
• sell their companies
• etc!
I’ve loved every minute of this. And yet this type of client is shifting. Call it the universe... call it ‘the great resignation’... call it what you will....
The last six months, my new clients have all been seeking something different. Something more for themselves. Freshness. Difference. There is a new energy of EXPLORATION. They are seeking the tools to:
• silence their internal noise
• release stress
• find balance
• challenge the status quo
• pivot careers
• reignite their purpose and passion
• take time and space to explore whats next
These are people at the early stages of career transitions. These are BOLD EXPLORERs who want to go on a journey of whats next. To go “on-assignment” and figure out their next move. Like many expeditions, they know it will take time and they are not trying to rush the process.
I am so lit up by this new energy. EXPLORATION is one of my core values. To me, exploration can be found in the town next door or half way around the world. It’s a spirit. I have always sought out experiences of travel, connection, wonder & originality.
So, in this month of July 2021, I’m realizing that this type of spirit was missing from my coaching business. Now, I get to embrace it and see how it unfolds. I appreciate my clients over the past 6 months who reminded me that this energy is core to who I am and should be core to my business.
